Administering Microsoft Exchange Server 2016

This course provides the knowledge and skills to install, configure and manage Exchange Server 2016. It covers administering mail recipients and public folders, use of Exchange Management Shell for bulk operations, managing client connectivity, message transport and hygiene, implementing and managing high availability, Exchange Server deployments, implementing backing up DR, maintenance and monitoring practices and administering Exchange Online in an Office 365 deployment.

Who's it for?

This course is designed for experienced system administrators or analysts that wish to develop the specialist knowledge to be an enterprise-level messaging administrator. Experience of previous version of Exchange is not required. The course is also suitable preparation for those wishing to take the certification examination 70-345: Designing and Deploying Microsoft Exchange Server 2016, which forms part of MCSE: Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 certification.

Prerequisites

Although not required to have any previous experience of Exchange, delegates must have:

  • at least two years’ experience of administering Windows Server 2012 R2/2016 and an understanding of planning, designing and deploying it
  • a minimum of two years’ experience of working with Active Directory Domain Services
  • two, or more, years’ experience of name resolution (including DNS)
  • knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts and security concepts such as authentication and authorisation
  • an understanding of Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
  • a working knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI) technologies, including Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).

Delegates who have attended Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 and Administering Windows Server 2012 should have all the prerequisite knowledge.
