What Total do

A Citrix Health Check consists of five stages, with a mixture of on-site investigation and off-site analysis and report writing.

1 Planning call
A conference call, led by a Citrix consultant, with relevant management and technical stakeholders (typically an IT or Infrastructure Manager and Senior Citrix Administrator) from your organisation to:

  • discuss any current issues
  • agree objectives
  • plan service delivery.

2 Assessment and analysis
Total employ a process of consultative forensics, discussing operational challenges with your system administrators and analysing data from your existing management systems (such as Citrix AppCenter, VMware vCenter and SolarWinds) to identify any underlying issues.

This includes:

  • reviewing the configuration, inventory and usage data from your XenApp/XenDesktop hosts
  • examining Citrix infrastructure services, including remote access, user management, monitoring and management procedures
  • assessing the performance of interdependent infrastructure (operating system, server and storage platform and networking).

3 Documentation
Total’s consultant will produce a detailed Health Check report documenting your existing environment and providing a set of prioritised actions to improve the performance or your Citrix infrastructure.

4 Submission
Email submission of the Health Check Report to enable you to familiarise yourself with it prior to the review meeting.  

5 Review
Face-to-face presentation of the Health Check findings and discussion of the recommended actions. 


Successful service delivery requires:

  • a Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environment
  • a management level sponsor
  • the availability of relevant technical stakeholders
  • administrator access to relevant systems.
