User Environment Management


FSLogix was acquired by Microsoft and provides solutions for common Office 365 and modern collaboration tool challenges. Mailboxes, Teams and OneDrive are stored within the cloud, meaning that the data is now no longer close to the desktop. Traditionally file shares and mailboxes have all lived within the same organisational boundary as the desktop or application being used, resulting in high bandwidth and low latency connectivity. By moving and consuming cloud-based technologies you can benefit from the flexibility and easy administration. However, content is further away from the desktops than previously and the connectivity conditions cannot be guaranteed. FSlogix fixes this problem by caching data locally to the desktops providing faster results and a better user experience.

Ivanti User Environment Manager

Ivanti User Workspace Manager (UWM) software utilises a client-server model for personalisation functionality, whilst the application of user policies is achieved from configuration files held locally on each endpoint.  All servers are based on IIS and utilize a Microsoft SQL database for data storage. Agents run on the endpoints, which read local configuration files and enforce the policies held within them.  Auditing functions may be enabled by logging into the local machine or to a central database.

Ivanti Management Centre

This forms the central hub of any UWM installation and is responsible for the deployment of UWM agents and configurations, and for the centralised collation and reporting of events raised by UWM software.

Ivanti Environment Manager Policy

This provides user configurations usually contained in login scripts and group policy items. Configuration actions are processed in a parallel fashion as opposed to conventional solutions to drive efficiency.

Ivanti Application Control

This manages the installation of applications by individual users through various methods e.g ‘Trusted Ownership’ and digital signature hashing, all of which benefit the security and the performance of the user.

Ivanti Performance Manager
